Desciption of the job:
OBJECTIVE
The objective is to maintain, update, improve and expand a DRUPAL-based website. The current DRUPAL implementation of the website needs to be reviewed and adapted to make the response and update times significantly shorter. It is also expected to expand the website through a web-based application that manages data streams from external servers and integrates them in one viewer.
THE MAIN PART OF THE ROLE IS TO:
• Deliver structural updates to make the website faster on user access & contents’ updates
• Adapt or re-implement the Map Viewer, taking into account new requirements
• Assist in the update of the contents (information & data)
• Maintain the Developer and User documentation
• Assist in the set-up of a web-based application for a multi-scale information system
• Provide GIS and DB assistance for a database data collection project
MUST-HAVEs
• Strong experience in the set-up and optimization of websites (PHP-based CMS)
• Good database management skills (i.e. PostGres)
• Very good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Knowledge of Web-GIS technologies
• Some experience with Web Map viewing applications
GOOD-TO-HAVEs
• Knowledge of GeoServer (i.e. Postgres, PostGIS)
• Knowledge of OpenLayer and Leaflet
• Basic Django skills in combination with GeoNode
• Joomla, Wordpress, Laravel
• Linux (i.e. CentOS 7)
DRUPAL Experience, including Drupal Themes
• Experience with web design and web graphics (CSS and HTML W3C standards)
• Experience in XML and metadata catalogues
• GeoServer and GeoNode
• Experience with GIS (preferably ESRI)
• Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL/PostGIS ORACLE)
• Experience with REST services Python implementation
• Knowledge of SQL and use of Oracle Database
• JavaScript libraries (jQuery and ExtJs)
REQUIREMENTS
• Good English verbal and written skills are required
• University degree plus 10 years of working experience
This is a long-term opportunity with an initial contract of 1+ year. The ideal candidate would be expected to start ASAP.
